We operate 3 distinct stages to our retirement and financial planning process.
Stage 1: Find out what’s important to our clients
Firstly, we need to identity and prioritise your personal aims and aspirations. This is where we find out what’s really important to you. Maybe you want to start a new business, buy a holiday home, go travelling more frequently or take up some new hobbies / sports?
Whatever is important to you, this is the stage where we really get to know our clients.
Stage 2: Building your Master Plan
This is where we start building your master financial plan, taking into account the priorities which we have already identified at our 1st meeting, along with a detailed audit and analysis of your assets, liabilities, income and expenditure.
We will ensure that some basic financial principles are implemented (risk allocation, tax efficiency, as examples) within your master plan. We will also agree to incorporate some important checks and balances into your plan over the short, medium and longer term.
Building your master plan will provide you with:
- Peace of mind
It is important that once your master plan is agreed and structured, that it is reviewed and streamlined on at least an annual basis. This approach allows us to measure performance annually and to see if any modifications need to be made.
Stage 3: Summary Advice
In summary, there are plenty of advisors interested in a client’s money. For us at Heritage Wealth, we really want to understand what is important to a client in the broader context of their lives. When we have a clear understanding of this, only then can we then decide how their money and other financial resources can be best utilized to achieve their goals and objectives.
Financial products are only purchased when they assist you in achieving your aims and objectives. They are not the basis for your financial planning.
Once we get to the point where we know the client and what they want to do with their lives, then actually fitting their money and resources around their aims is relatively simple and straightforward.
